Another blistering “Steptember” for CPI
It was another record-breaking ‘Steptember’ for CPI Euromix with colleagues clocking-up a collective 19,591 miles during the month-long charity challenge.
This year’s overall distance beat the company’s 2023 effort by more than 2,000 miles, a stunning feat which raised an equally astounding £14,693.33 for CPI’s chosen charities.
An established fundraising favourite, Steptember involves individuals or teams being sponsored to complete as many steps as they can per day for 30 days. A total of 132 CPI Euromix colleagues across 12 regional sites took part in this year’s challenge. Charity beneficiaries included Marie Curie (CPI’s corporate partner), The Stroke Association, Ellenor Hospice, Alzheimer’s Society, Feed the Homeless, and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
Pen Le Kelly, Communication and Engagement Manager at CPI, pioneers in dry mortar manufacture, said: “This year’s Steptember was a great success. Our colleague’s dedication and enthusiasm once again proved that together, this company can achieve incredible things. A big thank you to all those who took part.”
There were several outstanding milestones recorded during this year’s Steptember. CPI Euromix Manchester was the company’s highest regional fundraiser, earning £2,429 for the David Pennington Charity. Coatbridge achieved the highest per person step average per day (14,320) whilst Richard Samson retained his title as CPI’s champion step-taker with a blistering 930,000 steps.
Pen continued: “To put it in perspective, the 19,591 miles we completed as a company during Steptember is like travelling from London to Memphis via Sydney. It’s a remarkable achievement that each and every colleague contributed to. I think we’ve all earned a rest before preparing for another record-breaking Steptember next year.”
