Sontay unveils new devices for long range connectivity
Leading the way in advanced sensor technology, Sontay is proud to announce the launch of its new range of LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) devices. This expansion is helping redefine the landscape of wireless sensor networks, enabling seamless and energy-efficient connectivity for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
LoRaWAN technology is renowned for its exceptional communication range – exceeding 10km outdoors – and its resilience in overcoming indoor signal attenuation. Its low power consumption makes it ideal for sensing applications, ensuring long-lasting performance in even the most challenging environments.
Building on the success of Sontay’s SORA LoRaWAN sensing range, a new extended portfolio has been unveiled, comprising devices designed to meet the growing demands for precise and reliable data collection across diverse applications. Sontay invests in the latest technology to remain at the forefront of sensor innovation, ensuring its products deliver better performance, lower maintenance, and ease of management for building owners and operators, while continually adapting to meet evolving industry demands.
New LoRaWAN devices include Environmental Sensors, capable of detecting Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and other environmental factors, Total Indoor Air Quality Monitors capable of detecting vape, Pressure Sensors, Air Velocity Sensors TRV Valves, Window and Door Contact Sensors and Water Detection Sensors.
These new devices offer greater potential than ever to control buildings optimally for dramatic energy savings. For example, if simple TRV valves and window contacts are fitted in buildings such as hospitals or schools to control temperatures, then it is possible to ensure occupancy comfort and energy savings with minimal downtime and installation due to the wireless nature of the devices. This is just one example of how wireless sensors and devices can bring simple and cost effective control to any building.
Sontay develops its new ranges to meet a diverse range of audiences, from installers to building service consultants. Designed for flexibility, these devices are suitable for a wide range of applications, including healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, workplaces, and more, making them an ideal choice for modern building management needs.
Stacey Lucas, Commercial and Marketing Director at Sontay, commented on the launch: “LoRaWAN is transforming how we collect and transmit data across long distances and challenging environments. Our expanded range of LoRaWAN devices demonstrates our dedication to empowering our customers with reliable, low-power, and versatile sensing technologies that address real-world needs.”
The new product additions reinforce Sontay’s commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for efficient building management, enhanced safety, and sustainable operations.
