Data sheets containing a range of key product information are crucial to improving UK building standards. Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) assessment corroborates performance claims in product data sheets and confirms that the information meets the CCPI standard. The Code was initiated by the Construction Product Association (CPA) as a direct response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s post-Grenfell review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety. The review highlighted the urgent need to address the marketing practices of construction product organisations.

CCPI aims to instill product information that is clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous as part of a ‘positive culture change’ in the manufacturing and supply sector. Such an outcome will allow clients, specifiers and users to make informed product choices based on their certified performance capabilities; it will also support the drive for improved building quality and safety standard
