McCoy deliver groundworks for new designer outlet

McCoy Contractors, a leading groundworks contractor, is carrying out an extensive groundworks package as part of the development of the highly anticipated Cotswolds Designer Outlet. Appointed by the main contractor, Bouygues UK, McCoy is responsible for all groundworks for this major new retail destination near Tewkesbury and Junction 9 of the M5 motorway.

Cotswolds Designer Outlet, developed by Robert Hitchins Ltd, will be a premier shopping village featuring over 90 retail and F&B brands upon completion. Delivered in two phases, the 17,280m² project demands a tight construction timeline with Phase 1 opening in Spring 2025, and McCoy Contractors has risen to the challenge. Leading outlet retail specialist Multi-Realm is leasing the scheme and will be the asset and property managers upon completion.

Despite the challenging wet weather conditions throughout the winter of 2023, McCoy's skilled team successfully completed the ground floor slabs four weeks ahead of schedule. The company’s scope of works encompasses a range of critical groundworks activities, including extensive earthworks, foundations, external drainage and attenuation tank installation, service trenching and construction of RC retaining walls and ramps. Hard landscaping, including mall paving and tree pits will begin in late 2024.
