Big attendance at Super Trowel
Sponsored by CPI Euromix, this year’s Super Trowel contest to find the UK’s fastest bricklayer highlighted the incredible talent available across the industry.
Taking place at Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes on Thursday August 8th, the annual exhibition of skill, speed, and professionalism saw 12 of the UK’s best bricklayers all competing for the prestigious award.
As one of the trowel-blazing contest’s main sponsors, CPI Euromix was delighted to see over 3,000 visitors supporting the event.
For the second year running, the Super Trowel was won by Charlie Collison. Seeing off fierce competition from Ewan Habberfield in second, and Ash Mahoney in third, Charlie laid over 700 bricks in just 60 minutes to earn himself £4,500 in prize money.
Stuart Russell, Commercial Manager at CPI Euromix, underlined the importance of sponsoring the event. He said: “It was a tremendous event and was an incredible showcase for the UK bricklaying industry. Well done to Charlie for winning it for the second year in a row.
“Bricklaying is a traditional skill which is crying out for more young people to turn their hands to and help fulfil the country’s building needs. Initiatives such as Super Trowel can assist with that. We are very keen to support this annual event in any way possible.
“Thank you to Super Trowel’s organisers for instigating such initiatives and thanks to everyone who attended what was a wonderful event.”
In addition to showcasing the bricklaying industry’s incredible talent, Super Trowel UK 2024 also hosted a bustling marketplace that featured more than 60 exhibitors. For all attendees, it was a superb opportunity to engage with well-known industry brands, learn about new innovations in the industry, and network with other bricklaying professionals.
